During the 70’s, Piero Castiglioni started his career with his father Livio. His interest and curiosity are aroused by the introduction of the first halogens lamps in the european market. He dedicated mostly to the lighting design (palaces, art galleries, museums, urban areas, public and outdoor lighting, private houses, showrooms). With Piero Castiglioni starts the figure of the light designer. During his career, he had important collaborations with the architecte Gae Aulenti and Renzo Piano. International and renowned artist and successful light designer, he defines himself as an “electrician rather than an architect”. His projects are the consequence of a long and thoughtful research conducted in the field, within the architectural space, thanks to a solid technical-scientific culture and an empirical attitude, stoked by a constant experimental curiosity.
